Day 19 Carrion de los Condes to Calzadilla de la Cueza

Walked on the old Roman road today which is still intact after 2000 years.  It was long, straight and flat like the countryside.  Bernard met a French couple and wished them Bon Chemin!  There were huge green fields of barley and huge brown fields of stones!  We walked for 17 kms before seeing this village so this is where we are staying!  There is also a hostel in this tiny town with a bar where almost everyone is spending a wet afternoon waiting for dinner at seven p.m.  Finally we are all called into a huge dining room where the waitress gives us a choice of two different dishes  for plato #1 soup or salad, and a choice of three more for plato #2 fish, rabbit or lasagna.  Dessert, ice cream, cake or yogurt and of course all the wine or water you wanted.  For so many people it was all served very quickly and efficiently.   It was still very damp after dinner and so to bed.  Buen Camino!
