On the road early - the road is good but uphill to Ventosa where there
is a cafe - you guessed it - at the top of the hill. We have our
cafe con leche and potato tortilla
for our desayuno. Through the vineyards to Najera. We end up at the
Municipal Auberge - 90 beds in one room! It seems like a sea of
humanity in one room but everyone is considerate and it all works out.
I am trying to find a quiet place to write but llife is going on all
around me. An older local man is singing along with a young pilgrim
playing his guitar. There are a lot of older people from the nearby
"home" hanging out with the young pilgrims. It is a very comfortable
atmosphere.
