Day 22 Calzada del Coto - El Burgo Ranero

On the road at 7:00 a.m.  It is foggy and overcast.  We are all alone on the path for the first time.  It is so unusual but we know the pilgrims starting from Sahagún will soon catch up to us but until then we enjoy the solitude.  The fog clears and the sun is warm and welcome.  When we arrive we are instructed on how to line up our "mochillas".  By the time the Albergue opens at 1:30 there is quite a line of "mochillas", but only room for 28 - it fills very quickly.  There are a few familiar faces.  One couple who taxied to Sahagún from Terradillos de los Templarios because she was sick and needed a day of rest in better facilities, taxied back to Terradillos to pick up their pilgrimage without missing a step.  They actually began their pilgrimage by walking from their home in West London to Portsmouth, took the ferry to San Malo and walked and camped (and froze) to St. Jean Pied de Port where they joined the Camino Frances.  So many interested stories!  Buen Camino!
