This is a picture of some of the poppies along the way. They are everywhere. We are off at 6:35 this morning and it is beautiful and clear. The birds sing so loud in Spain they accompany us on our way. As we enter the city of Logrono there is an older woman named Felise who will stamp your passport (Camino passport), and give you a cup of coffee for a couple of Euros. There are not so many pilgrims today. We met some sho were taking taxis to the next town due to sore feet. As we leave Logrono, which seems to take forever, there is a paved walk way and there are lots of Spaniards out for their exercise. The paved walk way is nice and smooth but very hard on our legs, hips and feet. We decide to stop at 1:30. There is a cute little Spanish couple who call us in to their Auberge. It looked kind of iffy but everything was spotless and clean. There are 7 bunk beds and 4 single beds, 2 showers and 2 "servicos" (toilets) and a full kitchen where we can prepare our dinner. Soon the Auberge fills up. We met a couple from France who shared our wine and cheese. Their names are France and Bernard, they are the same age as us and they will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this year just as we did - but they are in much better shape than us. They live 17 kms from Vimy which we told them we have always wanted to visit, so we exchanged email addresses - who knows what the future holds (can´t find the question mark)!!! Buen Camino
